Originally written by Wayne Shorter and made famous on the 1968 Miles Davis "Nefertiti" album, I've always loved this song and wanted to record it. I recorded myself playing it to a sequenced back track and posted it to YouTube and to my surprise, my friend in NYC Leo Traversa (Tania Maria, Michael Brecker, Gato Barbieri, Herbie Mann, etc.) recorded a bass track for it and sent it to me. The bass track was really beautiful, almost like a duet with my guitar part. We discussed releasing it if we could get a drummer tp play on it as well. Leo asked Grammy award winning drummer Vince Cherico (Arturo O'Farril & The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Gato Barbieri, Diane Schurr, etc.) if he would record the track for us and he agreed. I have to say, the final result is very nice. Finally, I asked my friend Enrico Sesselego to mix the track. The results are spectacular, everything we played is perfectly audible and the track has a very modern vibe. We all agreed to split the sales between us so I hope everyone will consider purchasing it so we can continue releasing material like this.
